Our Story
a tale of faith, family, and love of dairy cows.
“When you consider the wonderful truth of the prophets’ words, then the light will dawn in your souls, and Christ the Morning Star will shine in your hearts.” — 2 Peter 1:19
Gary Weiman is a fourth generation dairy farmer and has been around cows his entire life. In 1981, he and his wife, Teresa, started their own dairy farm with a handful of cows. Over the years, the herd grew and expanded until we were milking 40-60 cows. Our family also grew to include four sons, David, Matt, Adam, and Aaron, and one daughter, Hannah. As they were growing up, all of the kids helped on the farm by feeding calves, baling hay, and helping with milking.
Throughout the years, our family has been dedicated to producing quality milk from healthy, happy cows, while also striving to be good stewards of the land with our cropping practices.
From 1981 thru 2023, we shipped our milk commercially. A milk truck came to our farm every couple days and transported our milk to a processing plant. Over the years our milk was shipped to several different plants where it was bottled or made into cheese or other dairy products. In 2018, we entered the local food market when we began selling bulk freezer beef and beef bundles to the community, an endeavor that greatly expanded during the pandemic in 2020.
In recent years, our family’s goals and plans changed. In 2024, we downsized our milking herd and transitioned to selling farm fresh milk at the farm. We enjoy working with our loyal customers and interacting with the families who actually consume the milk produced on our farm.
Today at Morning Star Farm, Gary and Teresa handle the morning milking and feeding chores. Gary is in charge of milk marketing, cropping, and day-to-day operations. A junior high ag teacher and FFA advisor, Adam does most evening milking and helps with general farm duties as time permits. He and his wife, Kelly, are responsible for retail beef sales. Hannah is employed as a Ruminant Research Coordinator for an animal health corporation and helps with marketing and social media development for our farm.
Several members of the next generation of our family are always willing to lend a hand with feeding calves, baling hay, and other farm chores, just as their parents did while growing up.
As a family, we love being good stewards of the animals and land entrusted to us, while producing farm fresh products that support your family’s health and well-being.
