PRODUCTS

  • Our herdshare allows you to form a closer relationship with our farm.  By buying into our herd, you own a portion of our cows and are eligible to receive a portion of milk produced each week.  It allows us to better plan and be able to serve your family by knowing that you will be at the farm weekly to pick up your quantity of milk. When you buy a herdshare, you will pay a one-time deposit in addition to a monthly subscription fee. text goes here

  • Our milk is filtered and pumped into a tank to be cooled.  Your clean jar will be filled directly from the tank with cold, farm-fresh milk. text goes here

  • We recommend promptly taking milk home after pick-up.  Storage in the back of your refrigerator is preferred over storing in the door.  With proper handling, your milk will remain fresh for approximately 10 days. text goes here

  • Our beef is processed at a local, state-inspected locker.  Quarters, halves, and whole beef are custom-cut to your specifications.

PRACTICES

  • Our dairy cows eat a forage-based diet that we grow and raise on our farm.  The cows have access to pasture during the growing season, and receive grass, alfalfa, and clover hay in the winter months.  A grain mix with vitamins and minerals is fed to provide extra protein and energy.

Our animals that are raised for beef receive a pasture and grain diet when young.  To improve meat quality they are finished on a grain and hay diet. text goes here

  • No, we do not use any artificial growth hormones.

  • Following the recommendations of our local veterinarian and to keep our herd as healthy as possible, we vaccinate our cattle to protect against various respiratory and reproductive diseases.  We utilize vaccines that have been safely used for many years. text goes here

  • The health and well-being of our animals is extremely important to us.  We promote good health in our livestock by providing nutritious feed, clean water, and adequate housing.  If an animal becomes ill, we work with our herd veterinarian and use antibiotics if they are necessary to return the animal to full health.  Milk from treated animals is never used or sold for human consumption.  We follow all guidelines for withdrawal times, and milk from a treated cow must test negative for antibiotic residue before the animal can rejoin our milking herd. description
